It was about three years ago when Eastern spirits entered the café racer seen and showed of their CX500 build. That was a great looking bike. It had all the great lines and lots of rustic character. But this new bike they have built is approached from a different perspective. Simplicity and high attention to details.
As you already noticed this CX500 does not hold the original lines of the bike. Eastern Sprit has created beautiful lateral lines. The tank now flows well into the seat and everything is seamless.
This Honda CX500 is also lowered by eight centimeters. The suspension has been stiffened up with new springs and oil but this did not affect the ground clearance to much. The forks were held together by a new set of tipple clamps. This cleaned up the front end and gave a place for 2 new gauges to fit right in.
The tank on this bike has been reshaped a bit and set level. It sits flush with the new sub frame. Now the sub frame is leveled off and flows well with the gas tank. Right on top of the sub frame sits the new removable seat. It only takes 10 min to swap in a different seat so that you can bring a passenger along with you.
Now lots of the frame components are still there like the central down tube. But it is much less noticeable now due to the performance cone filters. The motor was fully refreshed and ready for the long summer rides. They added a new cam chain and tensioner. This is usually the first thing that goes on these bikes.
Now to make sure the bike is ready to put down more power the guys installed a new clutch, new breaks and a new wiring harness. The exhaust also looks great on this bike. It’s nothing fancy but definitely looks great. It still holds the stock shape. But now it is made out of high alloy stainless steel fitted with a cone muffler at the end.
Over all I think the guys did an amazing job on this bike. This bike has a beautiful motor but the shape of this bike is just awkward looking. So if you can fix the shape of the bike it instantly turns into a beautiful Honda cafe racer.
